Seasoned Green Beans

These green beans are a great side to any main dish that is a protein. I stumbled across this recipe idea by a simple craving for something new.  I intended to make grilled pork chops for dinner and wanted green beans, but just having the "typical" steamed green beans did not seemed very appetizing to me.  So, I figured why not experiment with a new recipe? I am very glad that I did!  My husband said that these green beans were "the bomb diggity"! haha

What all do you need?

A cookie sheet lined with tin foil.

I do this all the time when I cook because it makes it soooo easy to clean up!

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Garlic Powder
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese

And the most important ingredient...

Green Beans!!!

You can use any kind of frozen green beans.
Now that you have everything needed for this recipe, let the cooking begin!

1.  Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.

2.  Follow the instructions on your frozen green beans on how to cook in the microwave.  I like to cook them first so all moisture from being frozen can be removed afterwards.

3.  After your green beans are cooked in the microwave, snip a small piece of one corner of your package off. I cut a small enough piece so that the water can be easily drained without any green beans falling out.  Be careful so that no green beans fall out if your hole is too big! :)                                                                 *You could just dump the green beans in a strainer, but I rather avoid using unnecessary dishes if possible.*

4. Once you have removed all the water from the bag, cut the bag open and begin placing the green beans on your cookie sheet just as shown.  BE VERY CAREFUL! The green beans may still be very hot since they just came out of the oven!

5. Next, pour about 2 tablespoons of olive oil on top of your green beans. I zig-zag my olive oil from one side to the other.

6. It's time to season those green beans! Sprinkle a small amount of sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese on top of the green beans.  Your green beans should look something like this before you put it in the oven.

*You can easily adjust the amount of each seasoning to your own acquired taste!

7.  Put the your seasoned green beans inside the oven for about 25-30 minutes.  I usually start taste testing after 25 minutes until they are exactly how I like them. :)

Here is what they look when they are done cooking!

I hope you enjoy these green beans!

*Remember, this recipe is flexible so adjust it to accommodate your own taste buds!
